Kvarner is a region of a great appealing strength due to the climate and vegetation differences, combination of sea, mountains and islands. Tourism tradition in Kvarner region is the longest in Croatia. Tourism in this region is not only limited to the summer season and the guests can enjoy it in all four seasons. It stretches from Moscenicka Draga on the eastern Istria coast to Novi Vinodolski. Distinctive indentity of this region is a unique blend of coastal towns, islands and the mountain area. On north - eastern part of Kvarner, a valley called Vinodol is situated with a sunken part which forms Bakar bay. On the other side Mountain Velebit and Zavratnica inlet form south-eastern edge. A special mark of the area is Mt Ucka which rises above the town of Rijeka and small settlements stretching along Adriatic highway.
