 Island of Cres is the second largest island of Croatia. It is known for rich vegetation and also as a third European island by botanical variety of species. In woods prevail pine trees and on the island there are two out of three ornithological Reserves of Kvarner region. The only source of potable water is Vransko lake. The island has great conditions for vineyards and olive groves and the locals live from sheep husbandry, boats building, fishing, and of course, tourism. |
