Middle Dalmatia is a region situated between two rivers, Krka on the north-west and Neretva on the south-west. The narrow coastal strip borders the mountains Kozjak, Mosor and Biokovo which gradually lowers to the fertile plane of Neretva. In front of the coast stretches an archipelago with numerous islands.
Middle Dalmatia region is most proud of its indented coast with numerous islands, coves and beautiful beaches. Every coastal part stands out with something specific: sights, gastronomy, customs or beautiful nature. This region has two locations inscribed in World heritage list by UNESCO: Romanic town of Trogir and Diocletian's palace in Split. Many historical sites, old fishermen's towns and outstanding natural beauties are just a few reasons why you should choose this region for your vacation on Adriatic. But it's not just the coast, Middle Dalmatia has interesting hinterland with a lot to show (natural phenomenon Blue and Red lake, Vranjaca cave...).
Center of the region is in Split which is very well connected with beautiful middle Dalmatian islands.
