On the hill, above the settlement, there is a cave which had been inhabited as early as stone age. In the 15th century priests of the Order of St. Augustine built a monastery within its walls. Today, only ruins of the monastery stand as a reminder of the past times. Even when the priests had left (18th century), locals had respected this site as holy. Not before 19th century, church, dedicated to St. Spyrydon, was built in the center. It is interesting that this small church holds a collection of valuable paintings. One of the most famous in the collection is a painting of J. Plancic, Croatian modern artist, born on the island, in the town of Stari Grad.
Sveta Nedjelja attracts guest with clean sea, beautiful nature and peaceful surroundings. East and west from the settlement steep rocky coast hides beaches ideal for a romantic swim. It is considered that the most beautiful beach of Sveta Nedjelja is Exotic beach. This little pebbly beach is one of the most popular in the string of beaches stretching eastern.
